Use this as a working guide, not a passive read. Skim the sections, copy the frameworks, then connect the advice to a real role, interview, call, or account you are working on this week.
A Denver SDR salary is more than a posted range. The range can help you compare role levels, but first-year earnings still depend on base pay, variable mechanics, ramp, quota, territory, and benefits.
Build the Compensation Ledger
Record base, target variable, OTE, quota, payout event, thresholds, accelerators, caps, clawbacks, ramp guarantee, equity, benefits, and required office days. Mark each entry as written, verbally stated, inferred, or unknown.
Model three outcomes. The floor includes guaranteed cash only. The evidence-adjusted case multiplies target variable by a documented or clearly labeled attainment assumption. The target case assumes full quota. If base is $60,000 and variable is $30,000, a hypothetical 70% variable realization is $81,000—not a forecast.
Test the Posted Range
Ask which level and location the range covers, where you would enter it, and what evidence moves a candidate within it. A broad multi-level range is less useful than a role-specific band.
Inspect Attainment and Ramp
Ask how many fully ramped reps were measured, what share reached 50%, 80%, and 100%, whether departures were included, and how territories changed. Request the ramp schedule and compensation plan before accepting when possible.
Price Hybrid Work
Estimate commuting, parking, meals, and schedule constraints. Keep personal quality-of-life preferences separate from cash. Compare health premiums, deductibles, retirement contributions, leave, and equity terms alongside salary.
Decision Scorecard
Score guaranteed cash, plan clarity, attainment evidence, ramp protection, territory, coaching, promotion criteria, benefits, and schedule from 1–5. Attach a source to every score.
